Hello there,

I successfully applied for a Two year working holiday visa in 2014 and entered Canada in September of that Year. However, I returned home to Australia only a few months later and have remained home since. I would now like to return to Canada and make use of the six or so months left on my visa/work permit but my POE letter of Introduction has expired. Is it still possible to return to Canada on the same visa even though the poe has expired? I have, after all, already entered Canada before the expiry date, so it should be possible, correct? If it is, what will be required of me on my return to Canada? will i need a new poe letter or would presenting my original one with the work permit I received during my entry in 2014 suffice?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi

You don't need the letter. You have a work permit.

You should check into whether you qualify for another two years as well. I think Australian's can do it one more time if they originally entered before 2015. But yeah, you just need to show up if all you want to do is use the last 6 months.

Ah yes, just as I thought.

I was a little uncertain about the work permit because it alone apparently ''does not authorize re-entry'', which made me think that I required a valid POE letter.

Many thanks to you both for replying. I really do appreciate it

That is stated on every work permit, study permit and visitor record because unless you are a Canadian citizen or PR, you are never guaranteed entry into Canada.
