My husband has just received his COPR. We're currently living in the UK and planning to stay here until the beginning of October, but need to travel to Canada next month before his COPR expires.
What I'm wondering is:
Will we need any additional documents to go back to the UK after showing the COPR documents at the border, or for when we go back to Canada to stay?
Will we be able to have his PR card sent to our UK address as we'll still be living here when it's processed?
To add, when doing the PR "landing" in Canada, you can give the address of any friend or family member that lives in Canada where CIC can send the PR card to. Once they receive the card, they can then courier it to you in the UK.
Or I believe you have the option to delay giving an address and getting your PR card sent some time later, though I'm not sure what the max time allowed for this is or what the steps are.
If you go back to the UK and try to return to Canada without a PR card, then your husband can travel back to Canada on his visa-exempt passport. He should refrain from mentioning to the airline he's a PR, since they may then demand to see proof in a valid PR card which he won't have.
