Can anyone explain why the following might happen. What reasons could cause this??

(4) Not all cases receive “first stage of approval” at CPC Vegreville. Some files may be transferred to a local CIC office. This may add further delays to the overall processing time.

This normally happens if they want to interview you. Maybe they want to talk to you to make sure that your marriage/partnership is genuine and continuing. I think this could also happen if there are documents missing from your application.

Like BeShooBeShoo said, this happens when they have more questions for you.
Basically, they look at the application, see if everything's there and everything looks ok. If yes, then you get first stage approval. If not, they send it to the local CIC office for them to deal with. It's not necessary that you'll need an interview if that happens, but it's likely.
Different CIC offices have different work loads - some are exceptionally busy and it can literally take a year or two for them to get to your application.

we started processing ur application in october xx

file transfered to local CIC..local cic may contact you.

We received a letter 2 days after saying file has been transfered to mississauga for further review. maybe be contacted for interview..

Question is... why would a file be transfered?

does anyone know wait time for mississauga...

does anyone get approved and AIT in local office without getting it from vegriville?
