Quick question help please

Hello i am on visitor status in canada and the status is good up till november 4th. My question is i was toold by cic to apply for a open work permit which i did last month and sent it in...do i need to extend my stay as a visitor even though my open work permit has already been mailed? Or will i have implied status since my open work permit is in process and i wouldnt need to extend my stay as a visitor?

Having applied before your status expired, you have implied status and therefore don't have to extend.
