Questions regards to sponsor application forms

hello friends I have some confusion when filling my sponsorship application form. can you please let me know on the application to sponsor, sponsorship agreement and undertaking form -IMM 1344 on question 3. it does ask Is there a co-signer on this application? ( co-signer must be the spouse or common -law partner of the sponsor)

So does my spouse have to be the cosigner? or this is optional there might not be any cosigner ( i am sponsoring my wife and not using any 3rd party consultant)

Also on Q. 9 It does ask date on which you obtained PR status- Should I put the date of issue of PR visa in my passport or I should put the date when I first landed in canada. ( i finished my landing formality and returned to USA)

No, I would write "not applicable" in the space provided. It's not applicable because there is no cosigner for spousal sponsorships.

My understanding is that it is optional. you don't have to have a co-signer.
