Hello, just looking for some advice as I will not be in my home address (in Canada) for a few weeks and am therefore required to submit my passport to Ottawa from the staff accommodation address where I will be staying.
I know I can submit my passport, pictures, etc. using a Canada Post Priority envelope and addressing it to the courier address in Ottawa, but for the return of my passport I have the following questions:
1. Can I use a Canada Post Priority envelope instead of Xpresspost?
2. If my passport is sent back to me either by an Xpresspost or Priority envelope, will CPC Ottawa mail it to my temporary address given that I have a PO box and not a mailbox?
3. If the answer to question 2 is yes, will Canada Post deliver my passport to my PO box or will they refuse delivery?
Hey,
Have you looked into the option of using the vac in the country that you will be in. Try contacting them to see if they might be able to help. I know they give you the option of submitting it to Ottawa for outland applicants that are visiting Canada. Maybe they have something similar for Inland applicants not in Canada. Would be a more secure option to get it done. If you are going to be around any states bordering Canada, you might want to check out if the Canada post flex delivery service works for you. I think they don't deliver passports or pr cards to a PO address. For Canada it does specifically state to use a canada post xpresspost envelope. Good luck.
