Hi everyone,

My wife’s Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) was refused when I was on study permit. I’m now planning to apply for a visitor visa for her to visit me in Canada while we wait for our PR application to be processed (under the Ontario PNP).

Do I need to mention the previous SOWP refusal in the visitor visa application or the letter of invitation? Would it negatively impact the new application, or should I address the reasons for the previous refusal? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Are you on PGWP? Getting a TRV may be extremely difficult.

Yes, she needs to declare the SOWP refusal in the TRV application. Yes, it's possible it may negatively impact the TRV.
