I will be applying for Medical residency in USA which require you to apply for J1 visa even if you have Canadian citizenship .
I'm Canadian permanent residence and currently haveTravel document with US visa on it(B1/B2)
My Question is :
If they put they the J1 visa on the Travel document and by the the time passes i will be eligible to apply for canadian passport , are they going to transfer the visa to the new passport ?
another Q :
Do we have to give the Canadian Government our Canadian Travel document after we acquire the citizenship ? or we could keep both ? i know we should give them the Permanent residence card but i don't know if this apply to Travel document too.
I'm asking this Because the visa is necessary to go back to USA even after getting the Canadian citizenship and might be on the old Travel document .
So what will be the status of a currently valid US visa after one obtained Canadian citizenship? Will the visa need to be transferred to Canadian passport?
That's my question !! i was wondering if we could keep both Travel document and NEW passport ? or we have to give them the Travel document after we get the citizenship in case they put the Visa on the old travel docuemt?
US visas are never restamped, if you wish to have it on anthor passport for any reason you will be applying with a totaly new visa application, with new evaluation as you never had it, if you renwed your passport you have to carry the one that it has a valid visa along with the new one (staple them together) furthermore if you are canadian you dont need visa to cross borders

On this issue i am not sure if i can be accurate, but your refugee passport should be correlated with your refugee status by the means you keep it as long as you are considered a refugee
Anyhow Canadian passport is much stronger and useful
I would refer to the following thread to assist you https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...tion-and-prs-applying-for-citizenship.333455/
