Question reg Income requirement for sponsoring parent

Hello everyone,
I am thinking about sponsoring my and have a question.
I am married and have 2 children and that brings total of 5 dependents in undertaking. and MNI for 5 is about 65000. My income in 2014 was 71000 and in 2013 61000 and 2012 around 40000. In addition I was supposedly single in all 3 tax years as per CRA rules as my wife was in Pakistan at that time. Now Do I qualify to sponsor my mother ?

Amend ur 2013 income taking accountant help. Pay taxes and fine. Rest keep income to 5 level onwards assuming u r planning to sponsor single parent in 2017.

Assuming your mom is not married, then your family size is 5. How you did your taxes or marital status in previous years is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is your family size at the time of your application (Jan 2016) which is 5. You need MNI amounts as follows:
5 persons 2014 $64,791 2013 $63,833 2012 $62,023

You don't qualify based on 2013 income, so no you can't apply now (unless you live in Quebec where only need 1 year income).

Assuming you start qualifying in 2014, then you can use 2014, 2015 and 2016 income to apply in January 2018 (Assuming rules stay the same).
