Question on study permit extension & its expiry

Hi all, my study permit is expiring this September and my visa is expiring on January 2022.
This time I want IRCC to extend the study permit to the end of my study time (August 2024 according to Letter of Acceptance). However, my passport will expire on Jan 2024.
I'm not sure what IRCC would do about this situation.
Can anyone help explain?
Do I need to extend my study permit now or should I extend my passport first?

As you have enough time until Jan 2022, renew your passport first then apply for extension. study permit validity do not overlap passport validity.
