Hello! Just a quick question about Visa offices. I was born in Germany but I have both citizenship in Germany and France, as my father is from France. I'm curious if my application will go to the Vienna office or Paris office for processing? I assume it would be Vienna?
You can request either, but ultimately it will be CIC's decision. They might base the decision on your current address, or where you have spent most of your life.
Do you live in Germany? If you live in one of your countries of citizenship then CIC will probably choose that visa office. If you live in a third country, then I'd imagine they would choose your country of birth, however, Cic can choose whichever they prefer, even just the country of residence if they feel so inclined.
Well it's a little confusing. I've lived in Switzerland pretty much all my life - except for the last 5 years where I was in Canada and Australia. I was born in Germany and also have French citizenship.
I'm just curious because if it goes through the Paris office, I have to fill out the IMM5562 Supplementary Information form, which I might just fill out in case.
