Question about study and post-graduate work permit

Hi All,

I am a 4th year international student currently study in Canadian university. My study permit and entrance visa are going to expire May 9th, 2014. I have 2 questions here and look for answers:

1. Due to the study permit and entrance visa are going to expire, I will try to apply post-graduate work permit before the expiry date.Will I able to stay in Canada as long as I file the post-graduate work permit application？

2. Due to my situation, I may get the three year post-work permit, if I choose study during the middle of the three year (for example, 8-month full-time master program), do I need change the work permit to study permit? Will my post-work permit still valid until the end of the 3rd year?

I am very appreciate if anyone can answer me, and lead me to the right direction.

Yes - you will need a study permit if you choose to study an 8 month masters. The study permit will cancel your Post Graduate Work Permit. You can only apply for a PGWP once.
