i am currently 26 weeks pregnant and staying with my husband in Calgary, and im just wondering if staying about a month over my 6 month period will affect the visa process? will they deny us?
also, our baby is due April 11 and i plan on having her in the states, since they are in the final stages of processing my visa, i am over 100% sure ill be approved by then. What procedures will we have to follow to get my baby back to canada with us when we come back? (2-3 months after i have her) is dual citizenship for her possible?
You should not overstay your visa - instead, apply for an extension 1 month before your visa expires, and it should be good. Provide proof that you have filed for PR, and waiting for the results, and the extension should be granted. Also - you are on implied status until they answer, so either way, you're good.
For the baby - US and Canada dual citizenship is possible, and if the father is born canadian, then the baby will be as well. Once the baby is born, you need to apply for a proof of citizenship and a passport ( either a temporary if you don't have much time, or a normal one) for the baby, so she can travel back with you to Canada. AS the baby will be canadian, no need to sponsor her.

Dual citizenship is always possible; however, it is not as 1, 2, 3, done. Because you are having the baby in the US, the baby will be a US citizen by birth; however, while your baby's father (if Canadian) can pass his citizenship to you baby by blood, that needs to be proven to and approved by canadian authorities before a canadian citizenship certificate can be issued. To be sure I would consult with the Canadian Consulate closest to where your baby will be born in the US. You may want to avoid processing time needed for this (so you can get a travel document for your baby; although technically as a US citizen your baby can come to Canada for 180 days with you but you may not want the complication). If the process took long you would be faced with complicating your landing to Canada and maybe missing the COPR date - if not done yet by the time you have your baby, which will be terrible (unless you can leave the baby for a few hours, land in Canada and leave back to the US - too much hassle, right?).
Now, the problem I see is that Canadian Citizenship Certificates are taking 5 months to process as far as it is published by CIC:
