Hi all,
i am filling the form for sponsoring my wife to Canada. I was living in Canada before, but moved back to Hong Kong for more than 10 years. I have my given name "Dominic" shown in my Canada Passport but not shown on any doc. in HK(ex. The Marriage Certificate). I found the form (imm1344) under the sponsor personal details has asked "have i ever used any other name?" Should i fill in my name without Dominic under this section and also other questions that related to the name of principal applicant's spouses like form (imm0008) ? so they can match my Marriage certificate?

Also, i have declared as non-resident when i move back to Hong Kong, i have read the website, it seems that it will not affect my sponsorship application, but does anyone know what should i do when we move to Canada after the application is approved?

Thank you so much.

Is there any "Dominic" in your Canadian birth certificate or Citizenship card?

Sorry guys, i have checked my citizenship, there is "Dominic" on my citizenship card. so do i have to fill in my name without Dominic in the form(imm1344) under the sponsor personal details "have i ever used any other name?" and also other questions that related to the name of principal applicant's spouses like form (imm0008) ?

Really thank you for the help

I think you should put your name as its shown in your passport in all the forms and put any of your other names that were used in your birth or marriage certificates (for example) in the form IMM 1344 under a question “have you ever used any other names”.

You can always add a letter of explanation if you wanted to make things more clear to IRCC.
