I was born in Canada but lived in the UK since I was 3. I am a canadian-British citizen of dual nationality. I have recently acquired my Canadian passport and am awaiting my SIN. My family and I (husband and 3 children) have decided to relocate to Canada so I am currently arranging everything. I wondered whether I would qualify for benefits straight away (cctb, uccb, witb, otb, gst/hSt etc)? Does anyone have any experience of claiming benefits upon return to Canada and knowledge of if it will be of a reduced amount due to no previous year's income in canada etc. I've been told to apply straight away but I am concerned how long it will take the process and how much/little it will work out to be.
