Hi. I got admitted to Collège De Comptabilité Et De Secrétariat Du Québec, Sherbrooke for a DEP in Computing Support. The Canadian website states that only a few institutes offer a PGWP eligibility and Collège De Comptabilité Et De Secrétariat Du Québec isnt one of them. I have already applied for a CAQ and will soon be applying for a study permit. Should I just go through with the visa process and change colleges after I get to Canada or should I start over?

You should have done due research before proceeding with them.
As of now it's better you get visa and after arriving in canada change to an authorised DLI. In the meantime get a LOA from another DLI of your choice.
Also check the fee refund policy.
All the best

I havent paid any fees as of now and the institute is a DLI. The tuition and registration fee is to be paid after I get to Canada. The acceptance letter states that my admission is conditional on me getting a CAQ and a study permit.
If i go through with the process, is it possible to change the DLI number on CAQ or do I have to apply for a new one?

You change DLI in your mycic account.
If your caq is locked with current institute you need to get it amended, I guess

How is a CAQ locked with an institute? And how do I get it amended?

Locked in means caq is issued in the name of institution.
Amendment can only be done by the caq issuing authority. I don't have any experience of it but others who have can guide you better

Does that mean I would have to apply for a new CAQ?

As I said above - No experience. Sorry. Others can help

No worries. Thank you so much for your input
In the purview of current rejection rate, how do you even imagine to apply for study permit without paying academic fees for at least one semester. Institution might be fine with you paying fees after arrival but not CIC. Your visa application will be at great risk if you are planning so.
Best option is to obtain LOA from an institution which offers program that is eligible for PGWP. If that institution is outside Quebec then CAQ is not required.

Received confirmation that the courses offered at that institute are eligible for a PGWP. So I will not be switching colleges. I will be getting a GIC. What else would I need to increase my chances of approval?
