I have a query regarding the payment of application fees. I am from India appying for FSW under Category 1. I have to send my application to Nova Scotia, Canada. Now, I am not sure how to pay the fees.
As per the Instruction manual it says I need to get a Bank Draft payable to “Receiver General for Canada” but it doesn't mention the location. Should it be payable at New Delhi office Or Nova Scotia? OR is it that I need to submit the fee at New Delhi office and send reciept to Nova Scotia OR I have to send the Bank Draft with my application to Nova Scotia? I am not sure but is it secure to send a $550 CAD Bank Draft to Canada from India through mail/courier?
What are the other payment options? It mentions Certified Cheques and Money Order too. Can someone explain which is the recommended payment option? Also, clear up my query above.
A clarification on the whole payment process steps will be really appreciated.
Not sure about the FSW process, but I applied under FC out-land via Buffalo, NY. I paid all fees on-line to Mississauga, printed the reciept and send it to Buffalo.
Don't you think you can do the same - pay on-line to Nova Scotia and send your proof of payment to New Delhi?

I took a bank draft from HDFC in India in favor of Receiver General for Canada. Just gave the address as Canada. The final draft had the Nova Scotia bank's address on it. So, I guess that should suffice. The draft has been couriered to NS along with the other application forms. Since only the addressed person can encash it, it is safe. Keeping my fingers crossed now...

Hi,
Did anybody ever find the address of the "Receiver general Canada".
I am desperately searching for it to pay for FSW category 1.
Please help me out here if you know it. I searched everywhere, send emails but nothing yet.
Hi ,
Thank you guys for the kind help.
If I understand you right. All I need is to ask for a bank draft at a bank, write the "receiver general Canada" on it as the receiver and that is Ok. No address or bank account is needed?
Another thing. I was born in a French former colony. I was not born speaking French but I studied French since my elementary school. Can I claim French as native language.
All you need to do is to go to a bank and ask them to make a Foreighn Currency Bank draft in favour of "Receiver General for Canada". Some banks may ask you to open an account with them first and then make the draft. Others may take cash from you in equivalent local or foreign currency.
If they ask you to open a account, it does not have to be in canadian dollars, it can be in USD,GBP or other currency. Normally, a draft is valid for 6 months from date os issue.
You dont have to worry about address of receiver general of canada, its not mandatory on a draft.
