Hi Everyone,
I got ICT canada visa (processing time 3 weeks from India) yesterday.
My wife and kid also applied along with me and they also got visa.
My confusion is on my Wife's and Kids's visa category.
They got multiple entry 10 years and 5 years visitor visa respectively.
My work visa validity is for 3 years.
Since they got visitor visa so I am wondering if :
1) they can stay with me for 3 years on their visitor visa?
2) Will my wife able to work ?
3) will my kid get admission in school ?
4) will they get medical facilities from government ?
OR do i need to apply for change of visa?
OR will they get OWP and study permit at port of entry?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanking in anticipation!!
1. No, they can stay with you for six months at a time on their tourist visa.
2. No, not unless you apply for a work permit for her.
3. Based on your work permit, a child may have permission to study in Canada, but depending on the location and the school, the school may request a study permit and may charge you significant international tuition fees.
Your wife should be applying for an SOWP not TRV. Ask CBSA to extend the date of your child’s visitor status to the end of your work permit. If you are working in Canada your child can attend public school.

You have a work permit that is valid for at least 6 months. You also have a formal agreement to work full-time for an employer in Ontario. The agreement states the employer's name, your occupation, and states that you will be working for at least 6 consecutive months.
You have a valid work permit under the federal Live-In Caregiver program.
You hold a valid work permit under the federal Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program.
You are a foreign clergy member who will serve a religious congregation in Ontario for at least 6 months.
Your spouse or same-sex partner is a foreign worker who is eligible for OHIP.
You are the dependent child of a foreign worker who is eligible for OHIP.

Yes this is correct. There is a 3 month wait time for OHIP to start any hot everything is covered by OHIP so having an extended health benefit program for you and your family is important. You also need to meet the resident requirements to get OHIP even if you have a valid card. Would spend some time reading through the website.
