My application is Outland through London.
I am applying as dependant child, my father - a PR of 10 years - is sponsoring me. So far so good with my application.
However I have a question...
I am currently in Canada as a visitor. But I was wondering, what if I get my passport request whilst in Canada? Could I send it to London and stay in Canada (obviously if I still have plenty of time left as visitor - UK get 6 months)?
If I can, when they send it back, do I have to go to the airport, or the embassy?
Or, do I have to travel back to England, send my passport, and wait there for it to be finalised?
My main issue about being in canada as a visitor was that cic would not update my address no matter how many times i sent them a notification, so my PPR went to my old house in england. Luckily i could get my mother to pick up my mail and forward it on to me. So i Fed-Exed the stuff to her and she sent it on to Londons office. I figured as they hadn't updated my address it may cause confusion for my passport to come with a canadian post mark in it (it did have the visit visa in it though so they would have known) Then my mum mailed it back to me.
I'd assume you can fed ex your things directly to them, but double check your address is correct because london are pretty useless =\
At least I know I could stay in Canada if I want to, and just do what you did. However my mum is moving soon... If they dont update my address to at least my mother's new address, it will go to the old house! Thats not good :/
I cant seem to update my address online, I think because Im going through Quebec - I dont have the option of viewing my application online. Although that was a little while ago I tried to do that with my Canadian address. I will give it another go!
I just looked online and read it properly (obviously i didnt read it properly last time lol) I have to contact London's visa office about my change of address yes? Not CIC? How do I do that, do I send a letter or can I email them?
I called the canadian side and was advised to send them (london) a letter instead of using the online forms (this also didnt work!) but maybe it was because i was so close to the end of my processing.
When you applied for your PR, did you give an email address? Because a lot of people on here have said they recieved their passport request by email. I put one down, it would be much better if they send it there
