Hi, I was wondering if anyone has experience getting a PR through inland common law sponsorship applications. We were told that because we are in Quebec it might take 25 months, and that as the person being sponsored I won’t be able to leave the country until I get a decision. Is it really 25 months? Is there a chance of getting a decision faster? Thanks
That's just the CAQ. This is a single additional step in the process that is specific to Quebec. The three months is not the end to end processing time.
As others have said, Quebec currently has caps in place limiting the number of spousal PR visas that can be issued per year. Plan on a 3 year wait.
That is ridiculous. So if there is a cap in place, would it be better to submit early next year to be the first?
Also, are there any people who can share their personal experiences of how long the process has taken for them?

Read the other existing threads (including the one quoted above in an earlier response) for personal experiences.
No, it won't be better to submit early next year. That's not how the caps work. It's first in, first out. There are still people waiting from previous years. So when the caps re-set next year, those people will be first since they applied ahead of you. You'll just delay your wait time more by waiting longer to apply.
Yes the 25 months for Quebec is correct. Could be faster or not ... we never know. Because Quebec is limiting the number of new comers through the family sponsorsphip application. So even if you application is approved, you have to wait until there is a place available. IRCC have a quota to respect coming from Quebec. I am considering moving to Ontario because of this.

Today I had everything marked as Completed on the tracker and last Saturday I received the pre-arrival services letter.
We are March 2022 applicants (Quebec Outland application with an active Open work permit). Should I be hopeful for a passport request or they will make us wait until September 2024 (33 months timeframe)? Unfortunately, there are only few threads for Quebec applicants to learn from others' experience. Any thoughts could help
