Quarantine and SIN

Hello guys,

I have recently landed in Toronto as a new immigrant. Unfortunately the times are such that we cannot do anything till we get done with quarantine.

Is there a way out to apply for SIN if i do not have a rental agreement? Neither am i a student. What have you guys done about your SIN?

Please share some experiences.

I am going to get a UPS box. I read on this forum that some people here did it that way.
I am not sure if they accept it, but I am gonna try. If not - I will ask their advice on what to do.

You can setup a bank account and submit statement as address proof.
You can also get a local sim card and submit it as address proof.

Yes, UPS box didn’t work. I should be a bank statement, bill from cell phone or lease.

did you get a refusal email or what? How do you know it did not work?

Actually no, it’s just that bank, service Ontario refuses to accept contract for UPS box as a proof of address. So we didn’t try using PO Box address for SIN. Maybe it would have worked...
