I will be coming to Canada next year from Australia on a 2-year working holiday visa and at some point in the next two years, my Canadian fiance and I will get married.
I want to start a family right away, as I'm already 34, but he wants to wait until he knows our partner application will be approved. (He has a criminal record from 30 years ago and we aren't sure if it might be a barrier.) Basically he wants to be sure that they won't separate us.
My question is, if we did have a baby together before the application was approved, would they really deny our application? The baby would be a Canadian citizen by birth.
