pvc/pcc

Somebody pls help ..
I went to police station to apply for a pcc (in bangalore)..They gave me two forms-police verification (for jobs in mnc) and police clearence certificate(which mentions that there is no criminal record ). When I ask why pvc has to be done to get pcc, they are telling pcc comes with the stment 'NOT FOR JOB'. Now I am confused. Do I nee'd pvc also so I don't get trouble getting job after landing?

Go for PCC only and NOT for JOB if you applied for PR
