Hi, im from the philippines and i am applying for family sponsorhip. My aunt sponsored me and we submitted all the required documents. However, the immigration emailed my aunt that she is not ilegible to sponsor me because as per email we did not submit an application for a member of family class but we did submit all the requirements. Further, they also mentioned the pursuant to regulation 117 (1)(f). Which stated that i did not met the criteria to qualify as an orphan. I am not applying as an orphan. My father was deceased already and my mom is with me here at the philippines. What is the best thing to do with this? Thank you in advance.

Hi, does your aunt have any other family in Canada (spouse, children) or if her parents are still alive? If yes, she unfortunately cannot sponsor you.

You are going to have to try entering through a different class as you are not eligible

Yes, you are not qualified to be sponsored by your aunt. Hence, the reason for refusal of your application. You can try other economic immigration streams whether you are eligible to apply.
