PRTD Approx Processing Time - Singapore VAC

Hi All,

I did my short landing about 2y 2mo ago. Planning to move to Canada for good by April next year... just comfortable enough to meet 2 year residency obligation. The problem though is i dont have a pr card. I need to apply for PRTD from Singapore VAC. I couldn’t get the current processing time from vfs/canada.ca

1) Can someone tell me the approx time for prtd from VFS Singapore ? 2 weeks/1month/6month?
2) I understand prtd for new permanent resident is valid for 6 months. What about those applying because they dont have PR card. Same 6 months?

I may need to travel on a business trip to a different country and may not be able to wait for 6 months while my prtd is in progress. Also my passport expires in about 10 months time.

Any consoling words appreciated

Update: i got my prtd within 2 weeks at Singapore VAC. Chose to go in the afternoon as it is less crowded compared to morning. I didn’t have to wait for too long to submit my application or to collect my passport.

so the PRTD was valid longer than your passport? a year validity?
when u will arrive to canada what forms u will apply for new PR card?
