what's the process for getting taxes done?

My husband is filing for the first time but we didn't realize it was so difficult. We were quoted over $400 to get assistance with it, but surely theres a less costly way to go about this??

I don't know what you've tried, but the online filing programs are not expensive and if your case is not complicated, you should be able to do it yourselves.

I don't wnat to give recommendations but search for canada tax software and you'll get reviews and links.

That is very reasonable if filing cross-border taxes.
