PRRA and sponsorship inland Jan 2018

I am international student I was in Canada since Dec 2010, I was student till Sept, 2017 and I have a valid student status till July 2019. I have diplomas of the programs that I studied.

I was dating my wife from the start of 2017 but the first time I met her was in 2015 Oct. .

In 2018 March I got married, I submitted my sponsorship to the immigration -at the beginning of Jan, 2019. (I should’ve applied for Work permit or visitor visa. I received a bad legal advise about that I don’t have to worry if my status still valid and not studying for the 1 year I waited to setup myself and all my papers to apply for the sponsorship )

I went to see border officer on Jan 2019 for interview in my area they allowed me to stay till a decision will be made on my sponsorship application and he gave me exclusion order. ( I did the medical examination for the immigration last week)

Now I have received a letter regarding PRRA and I have a meeting soon it’s close to Toronto Pearson International Airport, anyone with the same experience would like to help or any legal advice. I’m lost here.

Yeah - you should have applied to change your status to visitor in late 2017 when you stopped attending school. Your study permit was automatically canceled after you stopped attending school. You've been in Canada without status since early 2018.

Yeah - you should have applied to change your status to visitor in late 2017 when you stopped attending school. Your study permit was automatically canceled after you stopped attending school. You've been in Canada without status since early 2018.

So I don’t know if the officer in my area said they will wait till the results of my application is out, so they might change their mind there!!!
