Provincial Gov's defn of Full-time vs CEC

Hi,

My employer has given my a full-time position, but they define full-time as 36.25 hours/week. The Provincial Government here defines full-time as 36.25 hours per week as well. Can one year of 36.25 hours/week work experience be used to apply under CEC?

if you apply under CEC, full-time work is always defined as 37.5 hours/week of work. so one year of full time work under CEC is equivalent to 37.5*52 = 1950 hours.

If your work experience is anything less than this 1950 hours, you won't be able to immigrate via CEC

Yes, for CIC, full-time is 37.5 hours, but you can still qualify with "equivalent" experience. Your work schedule just means you will have to work a little bit longer to qualify.

If you are applying as a graduate with 1 year of experience, you would have to work 1 year + 2 weeks to meet the 1950 hours requirement.

If you are applying as a TFW with 2 years of experience, you would have to work 2 years + 4 weeks for the 3900 hours requirement.

(Yes, I am rounding up to the nearest "whole week" just to be on the safe side).
