Just a quick question regarding providing employment information for the Sponsor (from the sponsor document checklist). It asks to provide a letter from your employer regarding employment history or if sole owner of an UNINCORPORATED business, provide evidence of self-employment income.
My question is my Common Law Partner who is sponsoring me owns his own business and the business IS Incorporated. Does he have to provide any information on self-employment income? Or does he need to write a letter on company letterhead stating he is self-employed and provide employment dates? I looked around for information on this, but failed to find anything helpful. Thanks in advance for any help.
I think your best bet is to call the help line. The stuff they ask of the sponsor gets a little silly. Past 5 jobs? Net income instead of gross income? I am having to go back through all my paystubs (I am missing stubs from one month which is going to be a pain) and add up my net income because my company doesn't list a total on stubs.
I was in the same situation as your partner. I sent a copy of my T5 showing dividends paid to me from the company as well as a copy of the Articles of Incorporation showing me as a director. It worked.
