Hello!

This is my first post so please bear with me. (And yes, I did search the forum before posting :) )

I am a Canadian citizen living in Australia with my Aussie husband and son. We are about to submit our Family Class sponsorship forms, and wanted to double check one section before we submit.

Question 11 within the Sponsor Questionnaire (Are you currently living in Canada?), we have answered no since we are not there. However, I'm not sure what to include as "proof" that we intent to return other than a written statement. We both work for a multi-national and have applied for internal transfers. However, this will be contingent of the approval of his residency, so I can't provide proof. (Form options are: job offer in Canada, employment contract in Canada, etc)

My plan is select other, and include a statement of intent, which explains we've applied for a transfer but the offer / contract will be contingent on his residency approval. And go into a bit more detail of our plans to reestablish ourselves.

Does that sound adequate? If it's not, will they come back to us, or reject the application?

Thx Kate

I'm no expert, but it sounds just fine. If they have any doubts they will schedule you for an interview and/or request further documentation.

Did you receive any response to your application for transfer? Maybe you could include a statement from your company that you will be transferred upon approval?

Thanks! I'll check with HR to see if they can provide anything.

Cheers

A detailed written statement of your plans, and the information from your company if you have it is good for the moment. CIC will likely ask you for further information/proof. You could include notarized letters from family members in Canada who know of your plans to move, and perhaps are willing to have you stay with them while you find accommodations. Communications with banks, moving company, schools, anything that shows you are making arrangements or even just inquiries in connection with your future move are going to be useful proofs of your intentions.

Do you know if you initially sent all of this (Notarized letter from parents stating we can stay there until we get on our feet, proof of bank accounts outlining our savings to show we can support ourselves, our time line, letters stating why the sponsor wants to return (only left Canada in order to apply outland and no be separated from applicant so only been gone for 6 months at this stage) correspondence with current bank account in Canada where there is mention the sponsor is only gone for the year, and emails with a recruitment agency introducing ourselves and explaining the situation.

Is it possible they could still ask for more information??
