Can anyone let me know if the proof of funds needs to be provided ONLY from the country of citizenship? Is it ok to show bank statement in the country the applicant is residing in (temporarily) and applying from for the immigration? I have been staying in US for a while have saved the amount I need to show as proof of funds. However, I am not sure if I can show that as proof of funds. The Buffalo Visa office checklist tells about proof of funds in HOME country. Does that mean that I need to move my funds to my own country first and then provide certificate from that bank? And now a days they ask for six months records.

What about question number 10 in Schedule 3 form? If I have 80 000 CAD of mortgage on my apartment and I have 700 CAD to pay every month, but I have 20 000 CAD in cash on my bank account as a proof of funds, what should I say about available funds for immigration? Should we sell our apartment before applying or we have to prove CIC that we will sell it before landing?
