It can especially if you are under 21 and a dependant. You show the accounts you have.

HI, I'm over 21. It's an And/Or bank account where all 3 names show up (my name, my father's name and my mother's name), and any one of us has the freedom of moving money around in that account as they please. Any idea? I don't want to risk it, obviously. Thanks for the help!

If that is your only bank account then that is what you will show.

That's what I'm planning to do, but the question is, do my parents need to write any letter of support or letter that confirms to the visa officer they confirm I can do with the money in this account as I wish? It's the first time in doing this, so any guidance would be very appreciated.

If that helps. What you want to show is that it is your funds, not your parents.

Yes, other account holders can certify that you can move funds without any limitation. My wife did the same when i first applied..

No. I don't think i needed to notarize my spouse letter, no i didn't.

Perfect, so it's just a standard letter that your spouse signed and you uploaded as PDF along with your application documents, right?
