So i need to submit the documents to show proof of funds and it says i need the following:
Express Entry - Permanent Residents
If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile. This must:
- list of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts, the account numbers, dates each account was opened and the balance of each account over the past six months,
- list all outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans,
- be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address).
I've seen other threads saying it is sufficient to show a bank statement with more than 12k which seems to contradict what they're saying here. Do i actually have to get official letters from my bank + 401k + credit cards or could i simply submit my bank account statement over the past 6 months?

You will have to get it signed and stamped from your bank. I have seen a case which was rejected because he uploaded an online bank statement only.

I have simply submitted my 6 months bank statement. These statements are from my bank in Canada and are the monthly statements that I received by email. I did not attach any bank letter on top.
I thought it was important to show as part of my application(at least my personal perspective), that I am employed and that the payroll is coming to my bank account Bi-Weekly, I don't have major amount withdrawals/deductions made and my account is in good standing continuously in these last 6 months.
I inquired only yesterday with IRCC, my eligibility is completed and recommended passed and PoF declaration is part of eligibility review.
Hope it helps..
credit cards, 401K(which i believe is a retirement plan is not really required). They need proof that you have enough money available (liquidated form) once you move to Canada.
