Proof of Funds

For non GIC student do I have to show proof of funds for the 2 years of my program?
I see this on my checklist proof of financial support for the duration of your studies in Canada

But there is something on the CIC website about tuition plus $10,000 for a year. I'm confused about what to show.
I'm using an education loan so I need to know. Please help!
