Proof of funds - small clarification needed

Hi,
Post ITA, while submitting the proof of funds can I give bank statements of an account jointly held by myself and my parents? I will ofcourse give them the details of the account that I solely own..

Ofcourse my parents can authorise in writing that the funds in the joint account will be used solely by me and my wife while settling down in Canada.

The funds have to be in your name and / or the name of the accompanying spouse. Your parents have equal rights over those funds as they are in a joint name. You would need a gift deed from them stating they are gifting the funds to you and it is not a loan.

So this "gift deed" should be notarised / on stamp paper or just a plain paper declaration is sufficient ?
