Proof of funds requirement

I know that proof of funds have been discussed in great details on this forum but I haven't seen this particular question being answered clearly.

Prior to creating an EE-profile you are asked the amount of funds you will be bringing to Canada.
As you know, their requirements are not a small amount. I need to know whether I need to have this amount already when I apply to EE or if it is only required once receiving an invitation to apply for PR?

You need not to submit any proof for the funds upfront, you will need to have this amount/proof only in following situations:
1. If You are applying for a PNP: Then depending upon each PNP's guidelines they may ask you to submit proof of funds which may include but not limited to "Current Balance Certificate which includes average 3/6 month closing balance" or 3/6 month bank statements stamped by the Bank.
2. If you manage to get an ITA: you will need to submit either Current Balance Certificate which includes average 6 month closing balance or 6 month bank statements stamped by the Bank.

POF is an important aspect when you submitting docs either after ITA or for PNP application.

Also, you may need to have these funds for a prolonged period of time in certain cases.

I'm having all my funds in FD's. 50% of funds are in FDs in my account and rest are in FD's linked to wife's account.

If I submit FD certificates along with bank statement which has low average balance. Is it ok?
