I have a question regarding proof of funds. I have opened an account in USD in March 19th 2018, with a deposit of 2850 USD, then I deposited 3650 USD in April 5th, and 3150 USD in April 15th, with a total sum of 9650 USD ( equivalent to 12700 CAD).
My question is:
IF I got an ITA (let's say next week), would it be acceptable by CIC to give a bank statement for the past (5 months) since I have opened the account ? or I have to wait until the account is open for 6 months (September 19th)? or I have to wait until the required amount (12700 CAD) is settled in my account for 6 months (October 15th) ???
Depends on which bank you've opened the account with. My bank asked me if I wanted a 1/3/6 month statement. I used one month - like you, I liquidated investments for about 20 days and used the statement for that month.
I think you are cutting a bit close to the 12,700 limit. I would suggest being at least above 15,000 (currency fluctuations etc).
