can anyone help me with my query?

I applied in november 09 under fsw, they sent me acceptance in Jan which I missed and in June I found out 120 days have been lapsed. Through CIO Nova Scotia, London allowed me to submit my documentation in 30 days. I am almost done with everything but only facing one issue and that is proof of funds. I have following alternatives:

1. I dont have funds in bank but invested in stocks and in shape of car and gold which I can dispose in matter of days. If i do so and invest in long term investment say for One year or three years will it be acceptable?

2. If I deposit all amount in my bank and provide current bank statement and bank certificate. will that be correct option.

3. If I show some amount in cash at bank say 40%, 30% in shape of car - valuation from Showroom and 30% gold - valuation from goldsmith. A freind of mine works for immigration consultant told me all this ...I dont know London will accept or not...

I have week left to finalize all things will appreciate if someone helps me in this regard.

>>> Yes long term investment like in fixed deposits in banks are all right. No stocks, mutual fund.

2. If I deposit all amount in my bank and provide current bank statement and bank certificate. will that be correct option.
>>>> That is also correct, since it will look like new funds, so you will have to show chain / source of funds.

>>>>>They dont accept valuations/property movable and or immovable assets like car , gold etc at London visa office.

We haven't submitted our application yet, are in the final stages of gathering the docs. But London office mailed us back after we asked the question and they say they do accept property valuation as proof of funds. Furthermore some users on this forum have submitted property as POF to London and been accepted.

Where did you hear that they do not accept property valuations as proof of funds pls?

Wayne.

Javier,
Concerning the proof of fund acceptable by cic london.
I used my property valuation report and a brief equity analysis as my proof of fund
and this was accepted by the London CIC.
What your immigration friend told you is absolutely true
Provided you can provide documented evidence to back up the investment value, am
sure it will be accepted
All the best

thanks to you all.

I asked CHC,London about the proof of funds and their reply is as below:

In support of your application, you should provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible

currency that is available to you for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):

• current bank certification letter; or

• evidence of savings balance; or

• fixed or time deposit statements.

Before approving an application, the immigration officer must be satisfied that you have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family when you first arrive in Canada. The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.

When first arriving in Canada as a permanent resident you will also need to show immigration officials at the port of entry that you have sufficient transferable funds for your settlement in Canada.

You can show bank statements or saving statements or value of your property after the repayment of your mortgage.

If you have been offered a job or if you are going to work in Canada on a temporary work permit you may present proof of your salary.
