I am the primary applicant and applying with my spouse. The money we need is in my spouse's bank account, is it simpler to:
1. Spouse to provide me the money as gift (with accompanying letter)
2. Change her personal bank account to a joint account including my name?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If she's accompanying you, she can write a letter saying you're allowed to use the funds. Personally we had a joint account from the start to prepare for immigration. that way whoever scores better on the english exam can be primary without the hassle
Thanks for the quick response.
So a simple letter stating the amount as gift will be enough? Does it need to be signed by a witness or any other person to make it official?
