I'm currently pursuing PGDM in Canada and planning to create EE profile somewhere in Aug/Sept 2019. My father is willing to sponsor proof of funds. If he transfers the money into my Indian bank a/c and its left untouched for 6 months:
1)Will this work?
2) Is a gift deed necessary?
1. Yes it will work. In fact if it's a gift it doesn't need to sit in the account for 6 months. It can be taken post ITA too.
2. Yes, gift deed is necessary.

Thanks for answering. Actually I don't want to get a gift deed since I have the money ready.
1) So to confirm, if I set aside the money in my bank a/c for 6 months gift deed is not required right?
2) I'm currently a student in Canada. Will it be okay to show proof of funds from my (it's on my name) Indian bank account?
