HI all need help.

I am the primary applicant and my wife is accompanying me . Can i show her gift deed that she received from her father in her account as proof of funds? will that work if i get a gift deed , consent letter and bank statements from her bank? My bank account is around $4000 short of the minimum requirements needed from CIC for a family of 3 but if i show her account we surpass the requirements by a sufficient amount

please help
