Proof of Employment for spouse visa

Hi guys,

I had one more question. In form IMM5491E - Q. 18 is asking for proof of employment.
Now I am trying to bring my wife here from India. So I was wondering if I can be send in photocopies of my pay stubs instead or the employment offer letter that I received from my employer-it states the salary, full time employment and all that.

So just wondering if sending above documents would be enough or do I need to get a letter from my employer?

Any help is really appreciated.

no, the application specifically asks for a "letter of employment" from your employer with the specific information listed in the instructions. Paystubs dont' show how long you've been working at an employer, only how much you have earned YTD.

It is not necessary to be concerned about notifying your employer you need a letter for immigration purposes. your employer does not need to specifically know why you need this lettr, and it's a typical request for many creditors, ie: bank loans, mortgages, etc. CIC expects sponsors to at least attempt to get this information from their employer. If there is no attempt at geting it and no real reason for it to not be submitted, then you are risking delaying your application.

That should be fine. I didn't include a letter from my employer because I didn't want them to know that I was planning to return to Canada. I explained that and included photocopies of a year of payslips and my original job offer letter instead. There was no issue.
