Hello everyone!

I was wondering what could prove that we have been living together. Maybe pictures of our appartment with our things together? Bills? Receipts?
Even if we're applying under spousal, we thought it's a good idea to send some proof that we have been living together.

Thanks for your replies!

You can show a copy of the lease if both of your names are on it, rent checks from a shared account, a letter from the landlord stating that you both lived there, etc.

I take it you don't have both names on your lease because that's the best way to prove cohabitation.

The other things you mentioned are fine for spousal, mail sent to the address in both of your names or at least separately to the same address is good. You don't need at all to put in pictures of your apartment unless you think you are from a high risk country or you are lacking other proofs. Honestly, I've never heard of someone sending that in so its probably overkill either way.

Once you're married, you need very little proof about cohabitation, hell most people don't have that proof because they are separated due to immigration. Take a deep breath and smile! You'll be fine!

Thank you very much for your answers, guys!
This forum is definately an awesome support through this process.
It's true I'm kinda nervous about sending the most proofs we can.. but we don't have both names on leases and I haven't received any letter at our appartment :(
We still have a few pictures of outings, cinema tickets and etc.. Hope this will be enough!
And our endless proofs of communication while we were away from eachother..

Anyway, thanks again for the answers!

You can ask your landlord (or neighbors, friends or family) to write a letter stating that they know you both live there and for how long. It would be great if it was notarized, but don't worry if not. And since you haven't submitted your app yet, get a friend or family member to send you something in the mail. A card or note, it doesn't have to be elaborate.

Think bonbon, think. There are ways (and still time) to gather the kind of proofs you need to support your application! ;D Allison

Thanks a lot, Allison!
This is great advice! :)

You are most welcome. Take care. Allison

You could get your name added to the utility bills before you send the app in. Some bills with both your names on them are good proof of cohabitation. Otherwise get a letter from the landlord/neighbour/roommate stating the two of you live together.

Sent your lease, bills, mail stating joint address, official mail from the government is a plus, and letters from friends and family addressed to you both. Also, make sure you sent a LOT of pictures and supporting documents, regardlesss of whether you are married or not.

Thanks everyone for your kind responses!

;)
