Hi I was just wondering if anyone could answer a couple questions of mine. My cousins sponsored her husband from Lebanon to Canada and submitted last year in June and he came in Spetember. I looked at the processing times from Lebanon to Canada and its says 24 months!! Would it only be a year or is it now a 24 month wait? I know it could be less or more but gernerally is'nt it only a year wait roughly from Lebanon?
My second question is, it says 24 months processing time as of Sept 2014. Last year in May what was the estimation Government of Canada had up?
So how come my cousin got approved in a year rather then 24 months? You are saying 80% took that long, 20% of applicants took longer. Was the waiting or estimation time differnt last year?
Seems like a lot of people do get processed in roughly half the "processing time". Your cousin took 12 months, not 24. My visa office has a "processing time" of 15 months, and it took me 7 months.
They publish those "processing times" mainly so that people won't badger them asking "what happened to my application, I'm waiting!" They state that they will not answer any such inquiries until the "processing time" has passed. So if your cousin's application took much longer, he would have had to wait the full 24 months before being allowed to ask them what's going on.
Nope, no interview. Actually, don't hear of very many interviews at the Manila VO. Also, I'm from a visa-exempt country and I heard that we are very unlikely to get an interview. (Of course we sent in lots of proof!)
