Processing background Check ?? Immigration help!

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for immigration to finish processing your background check?????????? i hear it is basically the last stage in order to get accepted for PR?????? also, what are the steps ????? i hear some people Say something i got my AOR etc... what does this stand for ?????
1.I have been approved as an applicant
2.my wife has been approved as a sponsor as well
3.now it saids processing background check

No one can say for sure. Mine has been in process since july 10... going on 4 months and still heard nothing. Some people from march are still waiting to have it start....

may i ask when you sent your application for PR as inland ??

I sent mine on july 8 2016.

AOR means acknowledgement of receipt. It's basically the first update/thing/status that people get from CIC.
