I will recommend you get an IRCC-regulated consultant that knows his beans. Not really a lawyer, you are not going to court. However, I can tell you for free that if you don fix the PFL before applying for a study visa, you will get denied 100%. So get an IRCC-regulated consultant and let them tell you the right way to fix it.
OP needs a lawyer. OP received a PFL with a potential 5 year ban and didn’t respond to it within 10 days. Since didn’t respond, IRCC may enforce a 5 year ban which is very difficult to overturn and needs a lawyer to go to federal court. Even then, it may not be overturned. First OP needs to find out if 5 year ban was enforced.
Hello everyone!

Hi
My name is najnin from Bangladesh. My spouse husband applied for me open work permit in 11 November 2022 unfortunately we got pfl on 9 February for didn’t mention my USA visa refusal under section 214B. We response pfl with lawyer in timeline ( 1 week) but they didn’t respond till now? Can I reapply in different categories ( visit visa) Also my husband will give divorce if this years it not give response
Don't worry about it. I am waiting patiently for IRCC response as that is where the final decision comes from. I will share any news, whether bad or good I receive from IRCC here.
I need urgent response as I am totally depressed about this and cannot sleep. I keep checking my IRCC online portal every few seconds.
I'm from Ghana and I plan to study at the University of Regina, in Summer 2023.
I recently got a Procedural Fairness Letter after IRCC requested for my passport to be stamped.

The procedural fairness states;
I have concerns that you have not fulfilled the requirement put upon you by section 16(1) of the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states:
16(1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to
them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant
evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.
Specifically, I have concerns that the following document that you have submitted in support of
this application is not genuine.
- The bank statement issued by "XXXXXXXXXXXX" Rural Bank.
Please explain how you obtained this document and why it was submitted in support of this
application.
Please note that if it is found that you have engaged in misrepresentation in submitting your
application, you may be found to be inadmissible under section 40(1)(a) of the Immigration and
Refugee Protection Act. A finding of such inadmissibility would render you inadmissible to
Canada for a period of five years according to section 40(2)(a):
My response to IRCC: I have replied IRCC with an explanation letter indicating the document I submitted is genuine as it is my Dad's bank statement and I added confirmation letter from the Bank too.
Concerns: Anybody such situation? I am totally confused, is it because my bank statement is issued by a Rural Bank and not a Commercial Bank.
Please, reply me as I need urgent help and advice.
I am a success story of PFL. I received PFL, provided the information and was approved for PR.
But you should understand that it depends on the seriousness of your mistake and where you are located.
The general rule is this:
1) If you are located outside Canada, probability that you will be approved is low.
2) If you are located inside Canada, probability that you will be approved is high. But hire a lawyer who will help you compose a cover letter. In addition to that you should provide a statutory declaration. Every document should be signed and stamped. A lawyer knows how to do it. Don't save money on a lawyer! It's a serious thing.
Also:
1) If your mistake is serious (you hid criminal punishment), probability that you will be approved is low.
2) If your mistake is not serious (you forgot to mention about visa refusals), probability that you will be approved is high.
Remember PFL is not a verdict. It's a chance for you to explain whether you made mistake or you misrepresented information.
You are welcome.
I'm writing this message for the future generations to help them because I was stuck and didn't get proper help anywhere. Good luck everyone! Welcome to Canada!
