Hi,
I have my study permit which in its condition section the term "Unless authorized, prohibited from engaging in employment in Canada" is written. I went to service Canada to obtain SIN, but they said they cannot issue SIN based on this study permit. I want just work on campus. question is do I need to modify my study permit to obtain SIN while I just will work on campus?

when in olden times study permits used to have that condition we used to get a letter from college/university that had offer to work on campus and we would get SIN based on that . I dont know if they still accept that letter but its worth a try talk to ur college/university or else u will have to amend ur study permit as mentioned above by Lammawitch
