Deae All seniors, Please confirm which college has better chances of visa? Private / Public college? I have two option. One is of Canadian college of information and management (two year post graduate program) and it is a private college. And second option is Sheridan College, public college, offering one year post graduate dipoma. Which option should I choose?
Many many thanks for your comments and advise. Plz help me little bit more. Ielts requirement at sheridan is of 6.5 band but I have 6. My consultan get issued my ESL course admission letter in addition to my admission letter in my PG diploma of one year. Now course starting dates of both ESL and PGD are the same. These two letters are issued on different dates. I am afraid that this must be confused the visa officer. Please comment what should I do?
Don't believe everything the private college tells you. It's not their decision if you get a PGWP or not - it's CIC's decision. If CIC doesn't recognize the private college then no PGWP. What the private college thinks or wants is irrelevant.
Be aware that many consultants will recommend that you apply to private colleges because they receive kick-backs (payments from the private colleges for each student they recruit). These consultants don't have your best interests in mind - they are only interested in making money.
In addition to the above, private colleges tend to have much poorer reputations with employers in Canada than public colleges.

Yes, that`s right. But after JUNE1 2014, the CIC will only issue visa to those applicants who have already got offers from designated learning institution. So I think the new visa applicants will be refused if they use a private college`s offer to apply a student visa.
