Private pilot license on existing study permit

I am already in Canada studying computer science in Ontario. I would like to get my private pilot license just as a hobby while studying. I don’t see this as any different than going for driving classes or skiing lessons. But am I allowed to do this on my study permit without affecting any future eligibility for PR, PGWP, etc? Is it allowed to do private pilot training?
