Dear fellows, need your advice.
I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in fall 2014 (unless smth unexpected pops up from our beloved c-24). My child (6 years old now) has landed as a PR in 2012. Unfortunately child's mother chose to return to our home country soon after, so the child has lived these 2 yrs outside Canada (for those concerned - no, they did not request or receive any payments or benefits from Canada).
So the question is, can I submit citizenship application for minors for this child alongside with mine? There's a section 9 in the application asking if the child has left Canada for >6 month, so I presume 2 years absence will quite ring the bell here. Technically, the child is still a PR, but by the time the application is reviewed (next year) that status may become questionable (5 years rule to keep PR applies to everyone).
Does that mean RQ/delays/rejection for our applications? Any thoughts?
Thanks!

No, they have to be resident in Canada.
